The Name of Jesus

 When you say Jesus, what comes to mind?

Wonderful, Counselor, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Salvation, Power, Lord, Deliverance, Holy, Eternal, Righteous, Perfect, Awesome, God Almighty, a name which no one can measure

These are all terms we use to describe Jesus.  The name Jesus means Jehovah is Salvation and knowing that in the Hebrew language Jehovah is the name for God.

Isaiah 7:14   “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel"

Matthew 1:21-23   And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; For he shall save his people from their sins.  Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying, “Behold,virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

Luke 1:31   “And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name Jesus.”

Jesus is the lifeline for every born again, Holy Ghost filled believer of the Gospel.  We are delivered from sin, sickness, trial, hardship in the name of Jesus.

Acts 4:12   “Neither is there Salvation in any other; for there is  none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be  saved.”

Many have asked, “Why is everything in the name of Jesus?”

Colossians 3:17 "  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the  name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him" 

Matthew 28:19    "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing  gg  them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."

This statement is indeed truth, now understand that Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, describe one person, Jesus

St. John 5:43a     “I am come in my father’s name.”

St. John 14:26a,b    “But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the father will send in my name.”        

I John 5:7    “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and  these three are ONE.”

Jesus is the incarnated Word of God wrapped up in flesh. Also read:

St. John 6:46; 10:38; 14:11; and 17:21

Therefore we must do all things in the name of Jesus.

Colossians 3:17     "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all  in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

The name of Jesus contains Salvation and holds the key to eternal life.

Acts 2:38     "Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized  everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the  remission of sin and ye shall receive the gift of the  Holy Ghost.”

The name of Jesus is above every name:

Phil. 2: 9-11   “Wherefore God also hath exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,  of things in heaven, and things in earth And things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, To the glory of God the Father.”

The name of the Lord provides safety:

Proverbs 18:10     “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runneth into it, and is safe”

Prayers are answered by faith in the name of Jesus:

Matthew 21:22    “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in  prayer, believing, ye shall receive”

St. John 15:7      “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in  you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you"
